After losing their jobs, Jonathan and Jazmin’s dreams came to life in 2020. They came up with the idea of serving their communities with their favorite foods they grew up loving. Which in this case was Mexican food with an added gourmet-style twist. Using seasonings and ingredients from all over the world in their food represents the diversity of people today in the beautiful city of Los Angeles. Some of Jay’z Tacos’ signature dishes are the marinated grilled shrimp tacos and loaded carne asada fries which are fan favorites. Los Angeles is well-known for plenty of taco trucks in the city, and Jay’z Tacos is a representation of the finest Mexican food and its respected culture.

MEET JONATHAN & JAZMIN

Chef Jonathan came from Guatemala with a dream of a better life. Jonathan’s love for cooking came after the passing of his mother at the age of twelve, he would spend hours a day in the kitchen trying to recreate his mother’s food and which ultimately helped him find his passion for cooking. Jazmin’s love for starting a business began as a child selling snacks to the neighborhood kids. She eventually created many business opportunities as she grew older. Growing up as a Mexican American in the streets of Los Angeles, Jazmin was able to see firsthand how beautiful diversity was especially when it came to food. Coming from different parts of the world, Jazmin and Jonathan created Jay’z Tacos in hopes to serve the diverse people of Los Angeles gourmet dishes that can relate to their customer’s heritage.
