Darwin Wai started Moom Maam around mid-2021 with the initial idea of creating Thai and southeast Asian flavor artisanal gelato. He decided on the name Moom Maam because it is a famous Thai expression that depicts a kid who eats something so great and satisfying like there is no tomorrow. He wanted to create that feeling amongst everyone in LA by bringing the Moom Maam Gelato truck into reality. He utilized his background in Genetics and Software development into his own unique approach to optimizing food scientifically while also beingdriven by stories from his life experience.
